Our first conservation day of this winter will take place at the bottom of Lovelock’s Meadow, at the informal stream crossing. We will be clearing the vegetation either side of the path and across the stream, preparing for the rough pallet crossing to be replaced by a proper boardwalk. That should make life easier for all visitors, especially the dog walkers! Please come and help if you can – wear wellies and prepare to get muddy!
Conservation days are the second Sunday of the winter months from November to March. Teams of volunteers undertake essential site management to ensure the habitat does not decline or degrade.
Volunteers are very welcome, even just for an hour. Come along on the day wearing your old clothes! We supply the tools, gloves and any other protection. If you can come for the whole period, that’s really helpful, but don’t forget to bring your lunch!
