The City of London Corporation have carried out their promised remedial work to the Pond in the first week of November. This
invloved a re-design as well, creating 2 smaller ponds with a connecting channel. It is anticpated that the higher pond
will dry out in the summer months, which will be good for certain types of wildlife such as dragonflies, whilst the lower pond remains
filled with water. The ponds will now be left to nature to take its course over the winter months.
The City of London Corporation has promised to commission consultancy advice to support the development of a Management Plan for Swaines Green. In the meantime they plan to agree routine maintenance works by site visits. We hope to hear from them soon to arrange the first site visit.
